INTERNSHIP: MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS
Duration: Semester
Approximately 20-30 hours a week, Monday through Friday
Requirements:
- Seeking an undergraduate student in business, marketing or journalism
- Excellent interpersonal skills; good communicator
- Excellent writing skills, including web content management and social media experience
- Customer service skills; pleasant phone manner; takes initiative to problem-solve
- Motivated and out-going is a plus in this fast-paced environment
Duties:
- Given skills and interest, the intern will work with Harbor Springs Area Chamber of Commerce staff and members to communicate internally and externally the mission of the HSACC
- Assist with current web-site and social media maintenance and design, writing of press releases, newsletter content and other daily office functions of phone answering and greeting area guests
- Assist in the planning and coordination of special events
- Photography opportunities may be available
Additional Details:
· A variable compensation package is available with this internship depending on student skills and needs. Options include tuition reimbursement and or limited salary
· With the assistance of the Chamber’s Membership base, students will have an opportunity to find economical housing and possible additional part time employment during the completion of this internship
· Students will come away from this internship with a good understanding of non-profit administration and organizational development with an emphasis on web-marketing
