Graphic Design Intern

TheCelebrityCafe.com is one of the Internet's premiere entertainment magazines. Since 1995, TheCelebrityCafe.com has been providing its readers with up to the minute news, exclusive interviews, television recaps, and one of the Internet's largest collections of music and film reviews. We are actively seeking aspiring graphic designers to work as interns for the upcoming semester. This internship is 120 hours work in a virtual office. It is unpaid, and credit is available though not required.

The selected candidate will work on design, creation and other aspects of web production. We are seeking to hire new employees via the intern process. 
Candidates should be detail-oriented and highly communicative, with the ability to work independently, think critically and solve problems. We seek someone who possesses some project management skills, and is self-motivated with a sharp attention to detail. Candidates should have a passion for graphic design and a desire to keep learning and produce great work.

A strong proficiency with InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator is a must, Knowledge and experience with HTML and coding would be a nice bonus.

Marketing & Promotions Internships

The Post Bars is launching several new marketing and advertising initiatives via several mediums including grass roots marketing, print advertising, email marketing, social media as well as telephone and on-site marketing.

We are seeking fun-minded, motivated and idea driven individuals who will benefit from working closely with marketing leadership to write strategic plans and implement new marketing campaigns via multiple marketing platforms.

Full and part time positions are available with flexible hours to accommodate other part time jobs/school courses.

Post Bars are located in Novi, Ferndale, Detroit, & Auburn Hills. Participants will be involved with multiple locations.

Post Bars will accept students who are interning for college credit and willing to comply with necessary paperwork requirements for your department/advisor.

TWO POSITIONS COMMUNICATIONS AND GRAPHIC DESIGN

Communications Intern
:
The OTCA Communications Interns will uphold the bylaws of the OTCA and the wishes of the board. They will report directly to and works closely with the Executive Director, who reports to the board of directors.

POSITION DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Sitting on Michigan Main Street Committees that are appropriate when available.
• Working on communication issues
o Social media
o Communication with local press
o Internal communication for Old Town businesses through newsletters and website
• All aspects of one major event in Old Town Lansing including
o Running meetings
o Securing sponsors, vendors, entertainment
o Coordinating day of event
• Working on neighborhood beautification projects including plantings
• Help with daily office activities in the area of community and economic development.
• Be an overall ambassador for the Old Town neighborhood.

The design intern will be part of a close-knit office environment, but must be self-directed, motivated, and creative.

Putting together advertisements and marketing materials for member businesses and special events. Will work with staff on creating branding material for organization and district.

DEVELOPMENT/PR ASSISTANT

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Support the development team with the planning, execution and follow-up of tasks and responsibilities associated with Foundation special events, development initiatives and campaigns.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Seeking a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field
 Excellent verbal, written, organizational skills
 Strong interpersonal relational skills
 Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, preferred
 Flexible schedule, some evenings, weekends
 Own transportation, must be able to perform errands, some light lifting
 Understanding the basics of budgets, a plus
 Assistance with campaigns
 Create and distribute Press Releases
 Maintain and update media contact list
 Event Support
 Creative design skills a plus


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

 Assist with planning, set up, execution and teardown of events or other foundation development functions
 Solicit and obtain silent and live auction items, in-kind donations, services
 Recruit and coordinate volunteers for fund raising activities, events, functions
 Provide support for special events, campaigns or other development initiatives with strong commitment to teamwork
 Coordinate mailings, e-blasts and other forms of development communications
 Represent Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan (Ambassador) at various functions, events, etc
 Other duties as assigned

OTHER INFORMATION:
 Availability – Flexible Hours, 3-4 Days a week. Weekends on special occasions.
 Unpaid
 Must live in Metro Detroit area.
