Stratacomm, a full-service strategic communications firm is searching for strong candidates for a paid internship this fall in the Bloomfield office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate PR/communications student to broaden their traditional and digital expertise while contributing to a dynamic team.

Candidate should be studying public relations, journalism or a communications-related field and be a senior or a recent college graduate. Candidate should have solid writing and research experience, as well as experience using various forms of digital media in order to assist colleagues with daily account activities.

Qualifications:
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with and experience using multiple forms of digital media, including websites, blogs, multimedia applications, and custom features for social networking sites (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, You Tube, etc.).
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to juggle multiple tasks along with excellent time management skills
Understanding of how various communications disciplines intersect (public relations, advertising, marketing)
Creative thinking and analytical problem solving skills

Job responsibilities may include:
Contribute strategies, tactics and creative ideas to client accounts
Write client materials (e.g. press releases, advisories, articles)
Build media lists and pitch media
Execute social media/networking campaigns and blogger outreach
Conduct research and prepare daily news summaries
Participate in account group brainstorms, strategy and creative sessions, contributing digital / interactive / new media ideas
Coordinate event logistics
Stay abreast of the latest and upcoming trends in digital communications

Intern Writer

The United Autoworkers Union (UAW) is seeking an intern with versatile writing skills and who is comfortable working on a deadline in various styles and mediums. Strong writing skills and a commitment to social and economic justice are essential for this position. Internships are for a six month period with a possible six-month extension.

Primary responsibility include:
• Writing for the UAW’s award-winning membership magazine Solidarity, and online website, uaw.org
• Developing strategic campaign material and assisting in speech writing
• Contributing to other online media social networks and union publications

Qualifications:
• Experience with electronic communications and strategy are desired
• Advanced computer skills are required
• Knowledge of InDesign is helpful but not required

Interns are covered by the union contract with the Newspaper Guild/Communications Workers of America, Local 34022.

The United Autoworkers Union (UAW) is seeking an intern who has excellent technical, visual and verbal communications skills at its Detroit headquarters. Strong commitment to social and economic justice are essential for this position. Internships are for a six-month period with a possible six-month extension.


Primary responsibilities include:
• Website concept and content development
• Graphic design and maintenance for campaign-related websites
• Help to manage UAW’s main website and social networking tools

Qualifications:
• Knowledge of different computer languages and applications, including HTML, are required
• Knowledge of Druppal is helpful

Interns are covered by the union contract with The Newspaper Guild/Communications Workers of America, Local 34022.
