Public Relations Internship: PR Media I Internship – Call for Applications


The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) at Michigan State University, seeks a student intern to aid in the creation of public relations marketing and media materials for fall semester 2009. Duties include designing and creating advertising materials, including posters, fliers, invitations to special events, and marketing materials for CLACS. Experience gained from this position will benefit students interested in public relations within a non-profit, NGO, or international context.

Applicants may be MSU undergraduates or graduate students who have extensive working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, excellent verbal and writing skills, and an eye for detail. Competency in Spanish or Portuguese preferred, interest in Latin America recommended. The position is for up to 10 hours per week, with a flexible schedule with the possibility of a second semester. A preliminary application, essay and interview are required. The internship will begin August 24, 2009. Although the post is unpaid, recommendation letters and portfolio assistance will be provided. Duties include assisting with the planning marketing/advertising of special events and activities for CLACS. Experience gained from this position will benefit students interested in public relations within a non-profit, NGO, or international context.

Applicants may be MSU undergraduates or graduate students who have extensive working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, social networking tools (e.g., Twitter, Ning, Facebook), excellent verbal and writing skills, excellent organizational skills and an eye for detail. Competency in Spanish or Portuguese preferred, interest in Latin America recommended. The position is for up to 10 hours per week, with a flexible schedule with the possibility of a second semester.
