Sterling Corp

Sterling is looking for enthusiastic and motivated public relations and political interns to assist with a variety of client projects. We can offer real, practical experience for our interns. It’s not about making copies or coffee (although that may happen too); it’s about hands-on work for our clients and being a contributing part of our account teams. As mentioned above, Sterling is a conservative firm. That means on the political side we work for Republican candidates, committees, and causes; and on the public relations/issue management side we generally work with the business community, children and family advocacy and with conservative causes and issues.
Sterling interns also have a head start in gaining employment after graduation. Sterling’s strong connections with the Governor’s office, Senate Majority Leader and House Speaker – as well as our GOP Congressional delegation – will be leveraged to help our interns find optimal employment.
The types of assignments our interns receive include the following:
For public relations interns:
  • Drafting and issuing news releases
  • Booking talk radio
  • Setting up news conferences
  • Social media
  • Message development
  • Strategic communications plan development
For political interns:
  • Developing political messaging
  • Developing campaign plans
  • Drafting and issuing news releases
  • Research and polling analysis
  • Social media
  • Legislative outreach
  • Grassroots operations
  • Coalition development and Fundraising
