Internship objective: The goal of our internships is to provide student participants with a meaningful, multi-dimensional, “real world” experience that will build upon their educational background and help create a foundation on which they can base a professional career.

About the interning organization: Tanner Friedman is a strategic communications firm specializing in traditional and emerging media relations, adversity management and public relations counsel.

Intern organization mission: We provide businesses, organizations, individuals and associations with relationships, resources and insights, using multiple platforms to deliver their messages, tell their stories and accomplish their objectives through strategic public and internal communications. We earn respect and trust by upholding the highest professional standards.

Start date:  On or near the first day of the semester, negotiable

End date:  On or near the last day of the semester, negotiable

Hours per week: 10-15 hours per week/depending upon the number of weeks scheduled to intern.  

Academic qualifications: Students seeking a career in public relations—whether agency, corporate or nonprofit—are preferred; in particular those who have successfully completed some level of corresponding college course work.

Desired skills and qualifications: Student should show good judgment, writing and overall communications skills; ability to think creatively, multi-task and work effectively both individually and as part of a team.

Description of intern responsibilities: We want our interns to learn and contribute with an opportunity to do both in a range of areas, including: research, writing, media relations, client meetings and more. Our interns must be college students earning credit towards their college degree.

Location:  Tanner Friedman office, 32255 Northwestern Hwy, Ste 298 in Farmington Hills

Credit:  College credit toward related major, minor or general electives.  One hour of college credit is earned for 40 hours of work. This is an unpaid internship.
