Spend the summer on the lake! Leelanau Conservancy Seeks Summer Intern

Leelanau Conservancy Seeks Summer Intern

College students looking to gain some valuable resume-building experience working for a successful non-profit are asked to apply for a full-time summer intern position with the Leelanau Conservancy. “We give our interns a lot of responsibility if they are up to the challenge and they can really get a lot of hands on experience in the workplace,” says Communications Director Carolyn Faught. “Plus, they get the satisfaction of helping to protect this beautiful place.”

Faught says the intern the Conservancy hires will learn about certain aspects of land protection but will also gain experience in marketing and public relations. Job duties include helping to coordinate volunteers, working on the Conservancy’s Annual Picnic and Auction as well as general office duties. Applicant must be college-age with own vehicle. Strong computer skills with basic knowledge of In Design a plus; pleasant phone manner and team-work attitude necessary. Position can begin as early as April 1 through mid-August; flexible dates based on college start and end dates. Send resume to the Leelanau Conservancy, PO Box 1007, Leland, MI 49654 or email to cfaught@theconservancy.com. Deadline for application is February 28, 2010.

Sincerely,
