For more than two decades, General Motors has hired bright student communications leaders for its rigorous internship program. Many of these former interns are now members of the GM team, including several of our senior communications leaders.

Each summer we provide our interns incredibly meaty assignments that include accountability, an opportunity to learn and contribute at a global company, and travel. In addition to an outstanding salary, we cover your housing expenses. It’s not just an internship . . . it’s a way to launch your career!

We have three internship opportunities for summer 2011, all based in Detroit. Applicants should have completed their sophomore year, held at least one internship, and have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale – no exceptions. Undergraduate and graduate students are welcome. Candidates should still be classified as active students during the internship and should have the right to work in the U.S
.

Cover letter and resumes may be sent to Adam Denison at adam.denison@gm.com(2007 intern). Please include your GPA and anticipated graduation date. Descriptions for the 2010 internships follow. Actual internship positions for next summer may vary based on the needs of the GM Communications team.
